The Psittacine species "Amazona l.ventralis" (commonly known as the Hispaniolan parrot but sometimes referred to as Salle's Hispaniolan) is a very playful member of the parrot family. This bird is highly intelligent, medium sized, outgoing in nature and able to achieve an extensive vocabulary (especially when handfed, and tamed by the professional talents of the Birdlady). The Hispaniolan is native to the Dominican Republic and Haiti where it's numbers are being diminished by land clearance.
